I just passed the test and finally got my BE drivers license! I am now allowed to drive with a horse trailer, which means that traveling with Batman is even easier, because I can drive myself! I’m always nervous before tests, but when everything went fine with the security check and managed to hook up the car to the trailer without any problems, I could relax a bit more. The driving itself went just fine and I’m so happy and relieved!
Going through my search stats is always interesting. I keep track on keywords and popular search words and have been doing so for many years. Sometimes the search results makes me freak out, and I have had a good laugh the past years. So why don’t just write a blog post to clear things up and share the glory with you guys. Let’s start with this months top weird and not so werid searches!
“Barefoot horse, is it worth it?”
“Swimming bikini on horse back”
Absolutely possible, but I recommend wearing a helmet too. Check out all my best advice for going swimming with horses here.
“What will happen if a horse kiss me”
You will most likely turn into Horseman and spend the rest of your days cantering through the streets of New York in order to save the population from evil forces.
“(How do I) teach a horse to lie down?”
By following this link.
“matildebrandt bikini on horse”
… dude. Really?!
“Pinterest bareback nude ride horse”
I think you gotta go somewhere else for that. I will double check my SEO so you avoid ending up here next time.
“Repellent against tree-mites”
I have no idea about mites in trees, but I have written a blog post about chiroptes equi here.
“Long reins wiener”
I hope it was supposed to say “Wien”.
“How do I know when my broken collar bone is healed?”
It takes a few weeks. Count the days, or go to the doctor.
“Matilde Brandt Bloggerne”
(Unfortunatelty?) Batman and I ended up in the Norwegian TV-series “Bloggerne” this spring. Bloggerne is basically a tv show about Norway’s most popular bloggers. You know, the regular ones who writes about their children’s personal lives, recommend a new lipstick twice a week, violate the law every other day and causes as much drama as absolutely possible to get more attention. I wrote a blog post back in 2009, on a Norwegian site for equestrians, and asked the community there about advice when it came to the “intimate hygiene” of geldings. And ooooof course some perverted dude Googled that eight years later while the cameras were running and the entire thing, with my name on it, ended up on national television.
“Where can I get a Batman horse”
It is not like we have a factory producing them ..
“How do I fix my horse’s problem with…”
Complex behavior problem-questions are impossible to solve via Google. Please contact a professional and seek proper help. I recommend www.pluvinel.com, you’ll find many great trainers there.
Sponsored post in collaboration with Chaika
Because it is alright to be stylish in the barn some times too … I received two lovely shirts in June, and I love them both! They are from Chaika, a small brand who focuses on unique and practical designs. My two shirts, “Leaves” and “Green” are nothing like any shirt I have worn before, and I actually like the style a lot!
The shirts have a classy, feminine fit, with stretchy sleeves and is made out of a comfortable, stretchy fabric that allows you to move freely, and ride! This is definitely the shirt I’ll choose for a busy day in the office and gladly bring with me on a ride.
You can get your own Chaika-shirt by checking out their web store, www.chaika-style.com. Right now, you will get a 30% discount on all Chaika’s lovely shirts by using the promo code GREATSUMMER17 in checkout 🖤 Happy shopping!

And I’m PROUD of it. The correct way to get off a horse, is the Charles Vane-way, in my opinion.
Not one single time have I dismounted Batman the “English” way. Simply because I prefer to land facing away from the horse, not standing halfway under it, not being able to see a thing. Especially when the horse is very, very big. When I dismount, I simply give Batman the cue for lowering his head, and then jump off. It can be done from halt, walk and trot, and is comes in handy!
I started with this before I met Batman, and the first time I rode him, I spent a few minutes discussing with myself wether I should try to just throw my leg over, or jump off the “normal way”. I went for the first option, and Batman could not care less. I have actually not dismounted the normal way the past eight years, from any horse, I think.
Other acceptable ways of dismounting, is asking the horse to lie down, or fall off. ;)
How do you dismount? I’d love to hear from others who jump off the same way I do, haha!
