Stable tour! I asked you guys on Instagram if you would be interested to see more of the stable Batman lives at. So I went out with my camera to photograph all the parts of the stable, including what you not usually see in my photos.
I moved Batman to Jord Gård last summer, simply because my friends moved into a house on the farm last spring and got to live with the horses just outside the window. I did not want me or Batman to be left behind, so a few months later, I moved Batman too. Since then, Batman has settled in the forest and seems to thrive with his buddies!
Now, let’s take a look at Batman’s home, shall we?
The road up to the farm goes through a beautiful, old allée
I have had many photoshoots here, and this gorgeous location was actually one of the main reasons I moved here, haha. We don’t have an indoor arena, but we do have some great photoshoot locations …
You then reach the big barn and the farmyard
The stable itself is just around the corner. We have a 18 meters roundpen, trailer parking, a grooming area with space to tie the horses both outdoors and indoors, a tack room, a room to let blankets dry, a cozy hut with a sofa and a fridge and storage space. We have seven indoor boxes and large paddocks with various terrain.
The farm is surrounded by forests and fields
The old oak tree in the middle of the large field is a background you might recognize from my photos. Around the entire field, we have a riding trail/canter track. The track is open all year around, and during fall, winter and spring, we are allowed to ride on all the fields too. You can canter nonstop for many kilometers. During summer, we are allowed to use half an acre of the field closest to the stable for riding and horse training.
A short hack from the stable, we have a 20 x 40 meter outdoor arena
The arena is a seven minutes ride in walk from the stable. A shed with fences is located next to the arena. The surface is sand mixed with rubber. If you get hungry, McDonalds is located only two hundred meters south! Ride-through anyone?
We also have a lovely riding track in the forest next to the turnout
Enjoy a trot among the old trees.
Meet the herd living on 24 acres of forest
Batman and his herd live in the turnout. It is basically 24 acres of forest with a fence around it. The horses have access to a small house with soft bedding, tempered water and free access to hay silage. The seven horses in the herd spend their day going for adventures in the forest, resting in their house, playing, running, digging for roots, exploring the many tasty plants and herbs of the forest. All the horses are kept barefoot, and the herd is harmonic and relaxed. The horses are very social, always curious and live a very happy life here. The herd are checked and counted every morning and evening, and we muck out once a day.
When I moved here I was very worried about not finding Batman, but so far, it has never happened. I call for him, and he will appear after a few minutes. Thankfully he is able to find me, because searching for him in the dense forest is nearly impossible. I’m thinking about doing an experiment and tracking Batman with GPS for a week, to see how much time he actually spends in the forest.
We have a large selection of summer pastures
The horses can enjoy a variety of summer pastures close to the farm with different types of grass and terrain during summer. Batman are not allowed to eat a lot of grass, so I use the pastures for photoshoots instead ;)
Other photos from the farm
Jord Gård is beautiful! The farm is located 30 minutes south of Oslo, and is one of the oldest farms in the area, dating 2000 years back. We have several archeological findings on the farm, including one of the largest burial grounds in the area.

Thank you so much for the tour. What a beautiful place! Truly paradise! :)
Such an amazing place to live as a horse or human. Please do post the gps stats If you get them I would love to know how much they move each day/night. I love ❤️ Batmans herd mate the big black/white fellow. He is so handsome..and reminds me of my boy Dreamer. I live in California but love following your blog and all of Batmans adventures.
Here is a link to a short utube video of Dreamer playing with his ball

What an absolutely breathtaking place! It truly looks like a fairytale. Reminds me that I have to go out exploring in the woods more often. Sadly, there aren’t too many of those here in Scania :/
Oh I do love a barn tour! And yours is particularly beautiful!
WOW! I think I’m heading to Norway to stable Louie – it looks AMAZING!! So peaceful and relaxing! I especially love the photo of you and Batman loose schooling together in the field ❤️
Your photos are stunning! Beautiful barn and land, I’m sure Batman is thrilled with his home. It reminds me a lot of my barn here in the US. We’re hidden away in a valley of 500 acres- fields and woods. I don’t think I could ever leave.
This is literally heaven. Gosh, take me there
So amazing! I wish I could come and see for my self , damn … such a dream for my horses and me to live like this!
Thank you, thank you! So very different from the farm where we board on Southern Idaho. ❤️
